Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for an inpatient rehab position requiring BLS, NBCOT, and active IL license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in an inpatient rehabilitation unit within an acute care hospital
  • Patient caseload is 50-60 for the Occupational Therapy caseload
  • Day shift schedule : 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, five days per week
  • Weekend work required one weekend per month
  • Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 372 staffed beds
  • Use of Cerner EMR; experience preferred
  • Floating within hospital and to affiliated hospitals is required
  • Primary duties include facilitating activities of daily living, adaptive equipment assessment, and safety and injury prevention
  • Education and support provided to patients and families as part of discharge planning
  • Role includes telephone communication and required documentation
  • Must wear dark grey scrubs or professional dress
  • Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays as part of the assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
  • Time off (RTO) of up to 5 days is auto-approved; additional time requires facility approval
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Past employees of Memorial must be separated for 12 months before being considered
  • No-cost parking requires permit to be obtained during orientation

  • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience in an acute care setting
  • Active Illinois OT license required at the time of start
  • Current BLS and NBCOT certifications required
  • Demonstrated experience with adaptive equipment and pre-discharge planning
  • Proficiency in assessment, discharge planning, evaluation, plan of care, and reassessments documentation
  • Ability to perform patient lifting, transfers, and provide patient / family education
  • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
