American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for an inpatient rehab position requiring BLS, NBCOT, and active IL license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in an inpatient rehabilitation unit within an acute care hospitalPatient caseload is 50-60 for the Occupational Therapy caseloadDay shift schedule : 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, five days per weekWeekend work required one weekend per monthFacility is a Level II Trauma Center with 372 staffed bedsUse of Cerner EMR; experience preferredFloating within hospital and to affiliated hospitals is requiredPrimary duties include facilitating activities of daily living, adaptive equipment assessment, and safety and injury preventionEducation and support provided to patients and families as part of discharge planningRole includes telephone communication and required documentationMust wear dark grey scrubs or professional dressMust be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays as part of the assignmentLocal candidates are accepted with no radius restrictionsTime off (RTO) of up to 5 days is auto-approved; additional time requires facility approvalFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyPast employees of Memorial must be separated for 12 months before being consideredNo-cost parking requires permit to be obtained during orientation\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience in an acute care settingActive Illinois OT license required at the time of startCurrent BLS and NBCOT certifications requiredDemonstrated experience with adaptive equipment and pre-discharge planningProficiency in assessment, discharge planning, evaluation, plan of care, and reassessments documentationAbility to perform patient lifting, transfers, and provide patient / family educationExperience with Cerner charting system preferred\n Benefits\n
