POSITION SUMMARY

The Behavioral Health Director is responsible for the development and implementation, of evidence-based interventions within a correctional facility. The BHD also provides clinical and / or administrative supervision and monitoring of a behavioral health delivery system with the accreditation standards of the American Correctional Association and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. The BHD collaborates with the Regional Behavioral Health Director, Site Health Service Administrator, Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatrist to fulfill contractual services. The BHD is responsible for providing individual- and group-level mental health services, treatment planning, and crisis management to incarcerated persons with the site mental health Unit, infirmary, and restorative housing.
