WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons annually throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
At our brand-new Pediatric Unit ,part of Wellstone Emergency Services (WES), we provide care to individuals ages 12-18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The LPN works as part of a comprehensive treatment team of professionals focused on the stabilization and care of individuals on our unit. We have 3 Full time shifts available (1st,2nd, and 3rd). Shifts are Monday through Friday . Sign-On Bonus available for qualified new hires.
What we're looking for :
- Valid Alabama State License-Current
- Prefer Two Years Nursing Experience
- Excellent Oral / Written Communication
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- LPN Full Time
What you'll be doing :
Conduct vital signs, i.e. orthostatic blood pressure, weight, height, pulse rate information on all patients in careParticipate in treatment planningPrepare discharge planningProvide basic living skillsObtain information from client regarding his / her physical statusMake inquiries of client to include any changes with him / her, symptoms, etc.Assess medication side effects and / or adverse reactions as part of medication mentoringPerform crisis intervention techniques as neededAdminister injections, document in client's electronic medical record on a regular basisComply with OSHA regulations when administering I.M. medicationsInterface with local laboratories to obtain test resultsAnswer telephonesEnsure required training is up to dateMaintain licensure in the State of AlabamaComplete and maintain documentation in a timely mannerAttend staff meetingsAbility to multi-task, prioritize and use effective listening and communication skills both oral and writtenAbility to walk throughout the facilityAbility to remain calm and effective in emergency situationsAbility to provide a safe environment and promote quality care through adherence to established standards of care and facility policies, procedures and protocols.Complete tasks as assigned by program manager or his / her designee.What we offer : (Benefits for full time employees)
