Certified Nurse Aide

BASIC FUNCTION : The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will work in our Medical-Surgery department and report directly to the Med Surg Director. They will do their best to keep patients comfortable on the road to recovery in a positive environment and assist nursing teams to ensure the highest quality of care is provided. The ideal candidate executes duties with a willingness to help others who are in need. Daily responsibilities will be to deliver direct care to patients and includes, but are not limited to, the below items.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assesses needs, ensures proper follow-up care and supports nursing team in completion of tasks.
• Performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating.
• Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
• Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed.
• Documents patient interactions as needed.
• Participates in frequent interaction with patients regarding all levels of concerns and questions.
• Responds to call patient call lights.
• Assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the supervision of a medical provider.
• Observes and abides by the policies and procedures of Grand River Hospital District.
• Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
