Description : Job Purpose :
The Snowmaking Lead assists with team oversight, safe and efficient operation of snowmaking equipment, training, and working closely with other departments including grooming, ski patrol, lift operations, and race director. This involves assisting the snowmaking manager with assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and is also responsible for the maintenance of snowmaking equipment in season. This is a full-time seasonal position. Direct supervision is received from the Snowmaking Manager. As the snowmaking lead you will also be working with your team making snow.
This is a seasonal position Oct 17, 2025 - April 14, 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Actively monitor and support daily operations of the snowmaking team including but not limited to performing duties of all snowmaking positions; acting as a working department lead; monitoring work in progress and checking completed work; skiing / riding to test product
- Ensure successful (safe and efficient) charging, operation, and shutdown of the snowmaking system
- Regularly monitor safety compliance with Company & MIOSHA standards
- Troubleshooting locate and diagnose problems within the snowmaking system
- Maintain a working knowledge of the snowmaking control software and be able to help others troubleshoot
- Communicate with colleagues to diagnose and repair as needed
- Assist other departments as requested during periods of high volume, to maximize guest experience
- Perform daily snowmaking equipment maintenance
- Create the best quality manufactured snow for our guests
- Operate all department vehicles in a safe manner according to department, resort, and company policies and procedures
- Document and report mechanical / safety issues, complete maintenance logs and checklists
- Work closely with other departments including, Grooming, Ski Patrol, and Lift Operations
- Learn all basic department, resort, and company policies and procedures
- Be able to work under minimal supervision
