General Manager

General Managers are responsible for all aspects of the team and the restaurant. Most importantly, General Managers create a culture of enjoyment and deep engagement for all employees. GMs are responsible for supporting every crew member and developing new leaders and managers who will move throughout the organization. They also ensure compliance with company and brand standards in all areas of operations, including food safety, production and food preparation, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team training and management, recruiting, and financial accountability.

The responsibilities include promoting the Roots culture, supporting crew members, exemplifying Roots principles, identifying and hiring the best humans to join the crew, working with HR to onboard new hires, ensuring excellent training, providing continuous feedback, protecting the culture, focusing on customer experiences, maintaining food safety, managing facilities and equipment, executing shifts, and managing the P&L.

Skills, experience, and requirements include empathy, friendliness, leadership, a desire to learn and coach, willingness to work varied schedules, prior management experience, understanding of restaurant management software and Microsoft Office Suite, and an intensive training process.
