The Manager, Cybersecurity & Operations leads two key areas :
Security Operations : monitoring, threat hunting, incident response, and day-to-day protection.
Cybersecurity Infrastructure : managing core defenses like firewalls, endpoint security, identity and access controls, email and cloud security.
This role ensures OpenGov's security tools and processes work together to protect our systems, data, and people. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines technical expertise with strong team-building and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor the SecOps and Cybersecurity Infrastructure teams to ensure unified protection across the environment.
Define the roadmap for OpenGov's security infrastructure aligned with GovRAMP and NIST.
Establish KPIs and operational metrics for detection, response, infrastructure resilience, and uptime of security controls.
Report on threat posture and infrastructure maturity to executives and key stakeholders.
Security Operations (SOC)
Oversee threat detection, threat hunting, incident response, and log analysis for all environments.
Drive optimization of SIEM / SOAR platforms and their playbooks for effective alerting, triage, and response.
Act as the escalation point for major security incidents and coordinate cross-functional response efforts.
Lead continuous improvement of runbooks, playbooks, and MTTD / MTTR metrics.
Cybersecurity Infrastructure
Own the strategy and day-to-day management of network and endpoint security technologies including :
Firewalls / IDS / IPS / WAF
Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR / XDR)
Identity & Access Management (IAM / MFA / SSO)
Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)
Email Security & Anti-phishing Tools
Vulnerability Management and Patch Orchestration
Partner with IT, Cloud Engineering, and Product teams to ensure secure network segmentation, hardened configurations, and reliable logging pipelines to the SIEM.
Oversee lifecycle management, performance, and availability of all security appliances and tools.
Drive automation and integration of security controls to reduce operational overhead.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with 1-3 years in a leadership / management role.
Proven success leading Security Operations and Cybersecurity Infrastructure teams.
Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS / IPS, EDR / XDR, IAM, cloud security (AWS / Azure / GCP), and email protection platforms.
Deep understanding of SIEM / SOAR platforms, threat hunting, and log analysis.
Familiarity with frameworks : NIST 800 Series, NIST CSF, SOC 2, GovRAMP, FedRAMP, CIS Controls / Baselines, ISO 27001.
Experience with network segmentation, vulnerability management, and automation / scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to present technical topics to executives and collaborate across departments.
Compensation : $170,000 - $190,000
On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.
The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate's geographical location.
