Position Summary

The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities to drive company growth. This role focuses on initiating contact with potential clients, nurturing relationships, and aligning prospects with our products and services. The successful candidate will play a key role in generating service sales with a target goal of $1.2 million annually .

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Research – Proactively identify and research potential clients through cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, industry events, and networking.
  • Lead Qualification – Evaluate leads using BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) criteria to determine business potential.
  • Initial Outreach – Initiate contact with prospects through personalized communication (calls, emails, LinkedIn messages) to introduce services and build rapport.
  • Proposal Development – Prepare and submit tailored proposals designed to secure new business opportunities.
  • Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with prospects by understanding their needs and providing relevant solutions.
  • Pipeline Advancement – Schedule meetings, presentations, or product demonstrations between qualified prospects and the sales team to progress opportunities toward closing.
  • CRM Management – Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all interactions, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Collaboration – Partner closely with the sales team to align strategies, share market insights, and refine lead generation processes.
  • Market Awareness – Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and market shifts to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Other Duties as Assigned – Flexibility to take on additional tasks as needed to support the business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Commercial Business-to-Business Sales.
  • Experience in the UPS / Generator industry is a plus.
  • Proven ability to perform in a high-demand, fast-paced environment .
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and follow-up abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM system preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while working independently when needed.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to exceed goals.
