About The Position

Job Overview

Specialty : CRNA

Hospital Location : Portland, ME

Dates of coverage / Start Date :   February 2026 - ongoing. Ideally at least 6-month contracts - will consider as short as 3-month contracts with option to extend

Schedule :  36-40 hours / week. 10- or 12-hour shifts; while 0700-1730 & 0700-1930 are most common, there are options to work 0900-1930; 0900-2130; 1100-2330 as the schedule allows

Reason for Coverage : Expansion of clinical services.

Practice Setting : Hospital based

Documentation System / EMR : EPIC

CRNA be Supervised or Work Independently :   We utilize a medical direction billing model with a collaborative practice model alongside an excellent group of physician anesthesiologist.

Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day : 100

Average Number of Pain Management Cases : 0

Level 1 Trauma Center

Annual ER Volume : >

60,000 visits / year

Description of OR Staff :   The staff prides themselves on patient-centered care and fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual respect. We work hard and take care of one another while providing excellent care for our patients.

Number of Operating Rooms :   50

Patient Age Demographic :   Maine Medical Center cares for the whole lifespan of patients; however, we have a dedicated pediatric CRNA specialty team who cover all of our pedi cases.

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe : 120 days

Required Procedures :

General Surgical Cases ADULT

Spinal Anesthesia

Neurosurgical Cases

Ventilation Management

Local Infiltration

CRNAs will NOT do open hearts, regional anesthesia, central lines. We have dedicated CRNA teams that cover pediatric, thoracic and OB cases, so locums will generally not do those cases.
