Job purpose Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. As the leader of the Marketing team, deliver the marketing strategy to increase brand / customer engagement, purchase conversion and basket value, driving revenue and loyalty. Lead insights, marketing and digital teams to identify opportunities, deliver campaigns across channels and in-store, analyse performance data to drive ROMI within budget, and grow Home Delivery and Media revenue. Collaborate across divisions and with SPAR UK and International Marketing Groups to ensure consistent brand messaging.
Key responsibilities Champion customer trends and insights; quantify and prioritise actions with stakeholders.
Performance analysis of category and competitor activities; identify growth opportunities.
Set and report on lead and lag KPIs including footfall, basket size, category participation and ROMI.
Utilise data analytics to track campaign performance, customer journeys, and personalise marketing efforts.
Develop and prioritise customer segments, missions and locations; implement omnichannel marketing strategies.
Collaborate with Merchandising, Operations and Sales to develop integrated campaigns.
Lead customer, brand and marketing plans; manage budgets and monitor KPIs.
Guide content creation across digital platforms to maintain brand integrity.
Develop growth of Home delivery, in-store media and Local Marketing revenue.
Lead and develop the Marketing team in partnership with the CCO.
Model company values, maintain confidentiality, promote equality and comply with Health & Safety and GDPR.
Qualifications & experience Degree or equivalent; min 10 years progressive marketing experience; senior marketing leadership experience.
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; data-driven decision making.
Experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels.
Experience developing brands, product architecture and value positioning.
Understanding of wholesale / retail functions and digital revenue drivers.
Experience in food retail, grocery or CPG industries (B2C and B2B).
