The Project Director, under the direction of the executive steering committee and the project

sponsor, guides the project team through implementation, onward to maintenance all while

a deriving long-term strategy and vision for the department. The Project Director is the

central point of communication, maintaining a common vision, plan, and goal across all

areas of the department.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Providing organizational knowledge and guidance for the team to facilitate decision making.
  • Managing the scope, cost, schedule, and quality of all current and future projects.
  • Staff management and resource allocation.
  • Being familiar with all aspects of the implementation, maintenance and long-term options.
  • Coordinating all project activities, including software and hardware, business and related tasks, establishing / maintaining a super user program, internal communications and change management, recruiting and engaging super users and subject matter experts.
  • Establish standards around project delivery, templates and reporting.
  • Communicating with leaders in the hospital(s), clinics, and billing office(s).
  • Setting appropriate expectations across the organization in relation to current and future projects.
  • Building and maintaining morale.
  • Promoting the system and representing it positively to the user community.
  • Reviewing the progress of any project regularly with EPIC and organization leadership.
  • Coordinating the organization's overall needs and direction with EPIC.

  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelors Degree, any field.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Epic experience required.
  • Project Management certification preferred, project management experience required.
  • Complete assigned EPIC Certification(s) and / or training within 90 days of employment
