Overview
Compassionate Substance Use Disorder Counselor needed. The role focuses on assisting patients through medically assisted programs and providing techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to aid crisis management and coping strategies, and evaluates patient progress during therapy. Collaboration with doctors, nurses, and therapists is expected to support best overall outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
- Facilitates, establishes, and reviews the initial treatment plan with each patient
- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Completes bio-psychosocial assessment
- Involve families and significant others in the patient's recovery process whenever possible
- Develops and participates in individual or group patient teaching projects
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed
- Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans; completes all discharge paperwork
- Other related duties as determined by supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum HS Diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's or Master's in a related field preferredPrevious experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plusLADC, LCMHC, LICSW, MLADC highly desirableMust demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward our patient populationSatisfactory drug screen and criminal background checkBenefits
