Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position covering night shifts with neonatal and labor management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit with LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model
  • Night shifts, 4x12 hours per week (18 : 00-6 : 30)
  • Required to provide couplet care for well newborns and manage labor patients
  • RN circulates own cesarean sections
  • Floating to similar units as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR; prior experience preferred but not required
  • Scrubs provided; purple or navy blue OR scrubs allowed
  • Scheduling may adjust based on unit needs
  • Responsibilities include managing laboring patients, couplet care for well newborns, and circulating cesarean sections
  • Brief orientation provided prior to starting unit assignments
  • Onsite orientation modules completed during initial training
  • No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto approved
  • No time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • First-time travelers to labor and delivery positions are welcome to apply
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or Compact), required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • At least 1 year of prior Labor and Delivery RN experience required
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Locals within 50 miles are not eligible
  • Former permanent staff must have been gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
