Job Requirements

As a Medical Assistant at UM Health-Sparrow, you'll be at the forefront of providing efficient and compassionate patient care. Your key responsibilities will include :

• Patient Preparation : Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs assessment and documentation of chief complaints.
• Clinical Procedures : Conduct laboratory and diagnostic tests, administer medications orally or by injection, and ensure timely processing of prescriptions.
• Communication and Coordination : Handle telephone calls, triage inquiries, schedule tests and referrals, and provide appropriate patient and family education.
• Quality Improvement : Collaborate on enhancing care quality, maintaining practice standards, and engaging in continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties

Certification : MA Certification preferred.

Experience : Recent clinical experience within the last 5 years, or completion of a medical assistant program within the last two years. Previous experience in a medical office setting is advantageous.

Education : High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited medical assistant program or a minimum of 6 months of clinical experience.

Skills : Proficiency in age-specific care, strong team player mindset, and familiarity with EMR systems.
