Description :

  • We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist for a Locum Tenens assignment.
  • The physician will provide both outpatient and inpatient care.
  • Coverage includes scheduled clinical hours and call responsibilities.
  • The practice setting includes 3 beds in the department, outpatient and inpatient rounding, and trauma level 3.
  • Physician will manage approximately 20 patients per shift.
  • Admissions are required, and the hospital is stroke certified.
  • Call will be via beeper, with a 30-minute response time and approximately 25% call-back requirement.
  • Support staff includes 3 medical assistants and 1 PA / NP.
  • Required specialty skills include general adult urology, ureteroscopy, renal and bladder ultrasound with biopsy, and ESWL.
  • Preferred skills include nephrectomy and prostatectomy.
  • The role involves clinic, hospital work, and surgery.
  • The EMR systems used are Athena and Meditech.

    • Experience : Prior experience in general urology and hospital-based procedures preferred

    License : Active Alabama Medical License or IMLC

    Certifications : Board Eligible / Board Certified in Urology

    Must - Have : Ability to provide both outpatient and inpatient care, respond to calls promptly, and perform required urologic procedures
