American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 24-bed hospital Emergency Department with 4 critical rooms and 1 trauma roomLevel 4 trauma center with STEMI receiving and stroke center capabilitiesIntake model used for lower acuity patients with flexible RN-to-patient ratiosRN patient ratios : 1 : 4 in general ED, 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 in ICU-level cases within EDPatient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, minor trauma, respiratory distress, and critical care casesOn average, 80–110 patients are seen daily in the EDSeparate triage and well-equipped psych rooms available; travelers participate in triage if qualifiedAll beds have telemetry monitoring; RNs are required to read their own stripsCerner EMR is used in the departmentNight shift, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend and floating required between nearby EDsOn-call requirement : one on-call shift per 28-day scheduleHoliday coverage is required for selected major holidaysBlock scheduling permitted up to four consecutive shiftsNavy blue scrubs requiredRNs manage their own ED holds and may be expected to assist with EKGs and initiate some respiratory treatmentsCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, mid-levels, techs, paramedics, and house supervisorsDepartment provides a two-day hospital orientation and one 12-hour mentored shift at each ED locationSecurity is present in the ED 24 / 7Holiday shifts are required and scheduling is negotiable among certain holidaysRNs are first to float when necessaryCandidates who fail required onboarding tests twice will be ineligible for six months\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license is required at the time of applicationMinimum of 2 years recent ED experience with demonstrated triage and critical care skillsCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either ENPC or PALSExperience in conscious sedation and AMI management requiredMust pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique clinical test during orientationMust provide a valid driver’s license for residency verificationTwo professional references required, including a recent supervisorCandidates must not have worked for any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year\n Benefits\n
