Vice President of Business Development

The VP of Business Development is responsible for the ongoing leadership and management of all Business Development activity within the region. The primary role of this position is to achieve established new business growth targets. This will occur through individual contribution and leadership of a Business Development team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Cultivating a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement

Achieving identified growth and financial goals

Driving sales team to achieve weighted pipeline goals and quota achievement

Delivery of detailed and accurate sales forecasting

Implementation of sales best practices

Recruiting, hiring, training, development and retention of Business Development staff

Maintaining awareness of internal and external factors which may influence business performance

Management of sales teams, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth

Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives

Managing customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction

Identifying target accounts that fit the ideal property profile and establishing winning strategies to pursue these accounts

Executing an established Sales Methodology, Sales Process and Sales Cadence to ensure all customer messaging is consistent with company standards

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Administer and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets

Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs

Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities

Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships

Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions

Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

Supervisory Responsibility

Oversee Business Development and sales support teams

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field from an accredited college or university

10+ years sales experience, preferably in a service field

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies

Commitment to continual learning through industry programs and educational opportunities that enhance interpersonal skills

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Word and Excel

Goal-minded with a self-starting drive to get the job done

Ability to listen to others, collaborate, and resolve conflict

Protect the confidential nature of the work as appropriate

Executive decision-making capabilities

Strong client interaction and visibility skills

Effective oral and written communication skills

Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to implement and monitor progress under pressure and deadlines

Excellent problem-solving and ability to use creative alternatives

Ability to work effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas constructively and addressing problems to find practical business solutions

Strong ethical practices

Tools & Equipment Used

Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time

Must be able to communicate both on the phone and in person with clients to resolve issues and manage the business

Must have finger dexterity for typing / using a keyboard

Must be mobile enough to move around the office and property (including lengthy walks on uneven areas)

Talking and hearing occur continuously when communicating with guests, supervisors, and associates

Normal office conditions apply; hours may include evenings, holidays, and weekends as business needs require

Travel

Frequent travel to regional offices for internal or customer meetings may be required.
