Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional CT procedures with required ARRT-R, AHA BLS, and valid state license.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a hospital radiology department
  • Performs both diagnostic and interventional CT studies across the patient age continuum
  • Operates CT and support systems including HIS, RIS, PACS, scheduling, and teleradiography
  • Uses sterile technique as appropriate and practices radiation safety
  • Shift is 11 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, 4x12 hour night shifts with a rotating schedule including weekends
  • No call required for this position
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • Role includes coordinating exams and communicating with medical staff, patients, and families
  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education is expected
  • Assists with departmental orientation and student clinical education as needed
  • Duties include venipuncture, patient positioning, and technical evaluation of images
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
  • No first-time travelers accepted
  • Scrubs or dress code requirements not specified

    • Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • Current ARRT-R certification required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Valid NE State Medical Radiographer License required
  • ARRT-CT certification preferred (required within 24 months if not presently held)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CT positioning, technical factors, and radiation safety practices
  • Ability to care for and image patients of all ages
  • License required if applicable
