The City of Naples is seeking candidates for a full-time position within the Public Works - Stormwater department. The salary for this position is $22.50 per hour and is located at 295 Riverside Circle, Naples, FL.

This position involves installation, repair, and maintenance work in the City's Stormwater system. Employees in this classification have previous experience in utilities installation, repair and maintenance, and function as part of work crew in accomplishing assigned tasks.
Examples of essential duties include :
- Working with utilities crews in installation, repair and maintenance of various Stormwater assets as directed, using assigned equipment such as winch cranes, trucks, tractors.
- Conducting routine inspections on City Stormwater assets such as pump stations, lake weirs, and rain gauges.
- Performing manual excavation duties, i.e., digging tunnels, channels, work space.
- Ensuring the safe operating conditions per work site, i.e., setting barricades, cones, and signs; monitoring and directing traffic.
- Restoring / maintaining work sites, i.e., resurfacing roadways; compacting fill; sod, soil and plant restoration.
- Performing pre-inspection and post inspection on all vehicles, equipment, and / or machinery operated; maintaining inspection log.
- Operating a variety of small equipment such as jack hammers, concrete saws, chain saws, compactors, concrete sprayers.
- Using a variety of hand held tools and equipment applicable to assigned work area, i.e., shovels, rakes, trowels, manual and skill saws, brooms, pipe cutters.
- Observing safe and proper operating procedures when operating trucks, equipment, machinery, and / or tools, in accordance with established and prescribed standards.
- Performing routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of assigned trucks, equipment, machinery, and / or tools to maintain safe and proper operating condition.
- Painting identification marks on meter boxes, valve boxes, pipes, roads, and curbs.
Additional functions may include performing other related duties as required.
Minimum qualifications include :
High school diploma or GED;Possession of a valid Florida driver license, class "B" standards with airbrakes and tanker endorsement or be able to obtain within six (six) months of hire; and possession and maintenance of a driving record which meets or exceeds minimum City driving standards or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.The City of Naples is a Tobacco-Free Workplace.
