Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and project managers on sequencing and scheduling. Resolve project issues promptly to minimize delays. Direct daily field operations, including labor, equipment, and material dispatch. Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to meet project goals. Conduct site planning meetings and track equipment usage and maintenance. Enforce OSHA and environmental safety standards. Monitor quality control, ensuring compliance with NCDOT, ACI, NRMCA, and company standards. Conduct site inspections and implement corrective actions as needed. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle. Negotiate vendor contracts, pricing, and service agreements. Address and resolve customer inquiries promptly. Review production reports and key performance metrics. Recommend operational improvements and strategic adjustments. Provide input to ownership and leadership on business performance. Minimum 5 years of experience in concrete operations or construction management. Proven leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of concrete construction techniques and industry standards. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. OSHA safety certification preferred. Ability to work across office and field settings, with occasional travel to job sites.
Job Description
Spyglass Talent Solutions, a retained recruitment firm based in Raleigh, NC, has been engaged by a Raleigh-based subcontractor to conduct a search for an Operations Manager.
Reporting to the COO, the Operations Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple ready-mix and construction projects. This role provides day-to-day leadership to ensure production, safety, and quality standards are met while driving operational efficiency across plants, dispatch, field employees, and drivers. The Operations Manager will act as a strategic leader, collaborating with project teams, vendors, and clients to deliver excellence and continuous improvement.
