Overview
Job Description Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by collaborating with Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) staff and other campus departments to design and implement student-focused wellness initiatives. Occasionally provides administrative and coordinated program support to the Director and staff of the Counseling & Wellness Center, taking and transcribing meeting notes, and following through with other assigned tasks as needed.
This position can be between 24 to 30 hours per week, for 40 weeks per year.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with student-facing campus departments to assess the need for training and collaboration with the CWC
- Designs and implements / disseminates training materials to staff, faculty, and student groups regarding student emotional health and wellness, with a focus on suicide prevention and substance abuse prevention
- Collaborates with clinical staff to design psychoeducational groups, workshops, events, etc. for students, related to emotional health and wellness, and crisis prevention
- Coordinates logistics of CWC events, including room reservations, acquisition of materials needed for events, set up and clean up before and after events, and other tasks as needed to ensure that events run smoothly
- Facilitates marketing of CWC events, including managing social media pages, creating and disseminating virtual content and posters, tabling, attending student-facing campus events, speaking to groups of students, faculty, and / or staff, and other marketing activities as appropriate
- Works with the Health Promotion class and student interns to implement programming
- Assists the office in its internal assessment of its services and effectiveness
- Maintains ongoing evaluation of necessity and utilization of wellness programs through the CWC and consults with Director and CWC staff regarding additions or deletions to offerings, collecting data about programs attendance, process and outcome evaluations
- Supports clinical staff in developing and implementing new student orientation programs and student leader training opportunities
- Assists in implementation of nationally standardized assessments, i.e. Healthy Minds Study
- Assists in assessment of GLS Grant deliverables
- Oversees work-study or internship student schedules and tasks as needed

Bachelor's degree in public health education, health and human performance, psychology, human services or other related field.1 year of experience in public health education, health and human performance, psychology, or human services or other related field preferred. Experience in another wellness related field, event coordination and logistics, and / or marketing considered.Experience in all levels of program planning, from conception to implementation and evaluationCommitment to data integrity, attention to detail and error-free reportingExceptional customer service skillsComfort with speaking in front of large or small groupsAble to manage multiple prioritiesAdept at utilizing social media outlets for marketing purposesExcellent time and project management skills.Able to adapt to and organize changing priorities, anticipate challenges and recommend solutions, generate and implement new ideasUnderstanding of HIPAA and FERPA, both of which pertain to the confidentiality of legally protected informationProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook).Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 15 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campusWork some evening or weekend hoursEnvironmental Conditions
