Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a post-surgical unit, requiring a CA RN license and strong telemetry skills with night shift availability.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital post-surgical telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
  • Hybrid unit with telemetry and medical-surgical patients
  • Responsible for cardiac-monitored care and nursing interventions such as IV cardiac medications, heparin and insulin drips
  • Night shift schedule : 3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 30
  • Every other weekend required for scheduling
  • Float to other telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • On-call responsibilities may be required as needed
  • Coordinate and deliver care for acutely ill cardiac and post-surgical patients
  • Address physiological, psychosocial, and self-care needs of patients and families
  • Return travelers must have been gone from the facility for at least 1 year
  • Only one holiday requested off will be approved during the contract
  • Candidates may be floated across various units depending on hospital needs
  • Team utilizes excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • First-time travelers are not specified; returning staff policies apply

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current AHA certifications in BLS and ACLS required
  • EKG interpretation proficiency required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
  • Experience with telemetry-monitored patients and administration of IV cardiac, heparin, and insulin drips required
  • Completion of facility modules during orientation required
  • Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing
  • Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility
