This coordinated curriculum includes discussions, small-group activities, and short lectures that focus on the skills needed to undertake research projects and research communication. This course also places students in a research lab for five (5) hours per week with a Rutgers Faculty Mentor. ISR is mandatory for participation in the funded Summer Research component of the STEM Research Experience. The instructor must be well versed in STEM research topics and an advocate for the advancement of women in STEM .
