Payroll Bookkeeper

Location :  Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Type :  Long-Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This long-term contract role is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to oversee essential payroll and month-end financial duties while supporting the success of a dynamic real estate development organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in bookkeeping and a proactive approach to accounting operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including custom reports as needed.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Review, approve, and process invoices while maintaining detailed and compliant financial records.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and ensure submission of finalized budgets to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Set up and maintain accounting records for new real estate projects and manage their closeout upon completion.
  • Generate financial statements and reports to support timely and accurate year-end audits.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on accounting-related processes and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and manage construction draws and track expenses related to ongoing development projects.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to operational excellence, accuracy, and confidentiality in all financial matters.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or in a similar financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing and month-end close procedures.
  • Experience with managing financial responsibilities for real estate development projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and tools (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
