Overview
Educational Consultant at Bucks County Intermediate Unit. The Educational Consultant, an experienced special education teacher, provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to assigned classroom teams in Bucks IU School Aged classrooms and / or school district classrooms. The Educational Consultant must have training and expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis to recommend current, effective evidence-based instructional practices. This individual must be well versed in classroom management, assessment, program development, instructional delivery and materials, data collection, data analysis, and progress monitoring. This individual may attend IEP meetings, provide professional development (small and large group), and consult with district liaisons. This position reports to the Supervisor of Special Education.
Work environment and schedule : full-time, 193-day calendar. Travel may be required to itinerant locations throughout Bucks County and surrounding regions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborates and consults with professional, paraprofessional staff, and other school personnel to develop a cohesive learning community and improve student outcomes.
- Provide onsite guided practice, feedback, and support to teachers in areas including classroom environment, assessment, program development, instructional delivery and materials, data collection, data analysis, and progress monitoring.
- Provide guidance to case managers to support IEP development.
- Monitor and assist with data collection, organization, analysis, and assessment to ensure measurable progress toward goals.
- Support implementation of behavioral strategies and interventions.
- Provide recommendations for and guidance in selecting appropriate student assessments.
- Assist with program development modifications and adaptations in collaboration with Bucks IU Special Education Teacher.
- Use data collection, including treatment fidelity checklists, to guide feedback.
- Review and provide feedback on student data; support data-based instructional decisions.
- Provide professional development opportunities for professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and contribute to effective program development and training.
- Attend IEP meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and / or Master's DegreePA Special Education CertificationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working in Autistic Support and Multiple Disability Support Special Education classrooms is beneficial.Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of team members, including parents.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Advanced computer competency in Microsoft Office, IEP Writer, and the ability to learn other software as needed.Additional Details
