  • About The Opportunity

The space sector is undergoing its most significant transformation since the dawn of the space age nearly 70 years ago, driven by increased access to space, private investment, and powerful emerging technologies. This transformation has heightened the space domain's importance to national security amid global uncertainties and adversary threats.

For over 60 years, The Aerospace Corporation has been a trusted partner in the nation's space programs, leveraging its technical expertise and continuity required for the US to keep its lead among space-faring nations. As the strategic environment evolves, Aerospace Corp is charting a bold new path, focusing on cutting-edge technologies to deliver critical capabilities to diverse end-users, including warfighters and astronauts.

The international space domain is now congested and contested, with over 90 nations launching satellites and adversaries like China and Russia expanding their capabilities. In response, the US has established the Space Force and initiated a new space race aimed at returning humans to the moon, Mars and beyond. The rise of commercial space companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin is revolutionizing government space missions, promoting distributed and resilient architectures. Aerospace Corp, as a federally funded research and development center, collaborates uniquely across government and industry, adapting to strategic shifts and leveraging innovations.

The company is seeking an accomplished mission-focused leader to serve as the next Executive Vice President (EVP) and trusted partner to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Aerospace Corporation.

Another key focus for the EVP is strengthening the depth and breadth of Aerospace's differentiating technical expertise and develop emerging capabilities such as modeling and simulation and artificial intelligence that are critical to delivering integrated solutions across mission and customers.
