The Springfield Housing Authority, consistent with its equal opportunity and affirmative action policies, invites applicants for the Mechanic III position.  Rate :

  • $24.44 per hour, 40 hours / week, M-F 7 : 30 am – 4 : 00 pm.
  • Excellent benefits package.
  • A pplications must be received by October 13, 2025.

Mechanic III Responsibilities :

  • Perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks on buildings, apartments, grounds, and equipment.
  • Works under supervision of an employee of higher grade who assigns duties and reviews work effectiveness and conformance to instructions.

    • Qualifications :

  • General knowledge of building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions.  Ability to follow oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with other co-workers and tenants.
  • Ability to use and operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to prepare work orders and time sheets.
  • Ability to work in unpleasant conditions such as snow and rain storms, infested places, cold and heat.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, climb ladders and steps, crawl, stand / walk up to 8 hours per day, operate tools and machinery.  Valid driver’s license is required.   Powered by JazzHR
