  • What We are Looking For :
  • We are currently hiring Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) and Qualified Developmental Disability Professionals (QDDP) to serve as Crisis Support Specialists. Do you enjoy expanding your skills, want a collaborative work environment, and are capable of supporting people with significant behavioral challenges? Then this position is the perfect fit for you! The preferred candidates would provide crisis support services to adults who have had a disruption in their community status, they are causing harm to self or others or if they are at imminent risk of psychiatric hospitalization. The Crisis Specialist will work with identified individuals who are experiencing acute and severe mental health conditions in their residential or day program setting. What You Will Do as a Crisis Support Specialist : Complete face to face assessments to determine support needs Coordinate the development and timely submission of Individualized Service Plans, crisis notes and all other required program documentation Maintain and ensure compliance with DBHDS and Medicaid standard Ensure all Serious Incident Reports are completed within 24-hours Meet with clinical supervisor regularly staff and assign / reassign cases Perform client file audits as needed to ensure compliance with all Medicaid and DBHDS standards Ensure safety planning is completed on day 1 of service initiation due to the acute nature of symptoms and short admission timeframe. Participate in an on-call rotation Complete additional assessments and attend meetings as needed Provide guidance and model appropriate de-escalation of challenging behaviors during times of crisis Adhere to all agency’s policies / procedures and complete other tasks assigned by Program Director for successful operation of the program

  • Annual salary up to $70,000, depending on credentials and experience Sign-On Bonus.

  • What You Need to Have :
  • Position requires at a minimum : BA / BS degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, or a related area from an accredited college or university At least 2 years of documented experience working with special needs and challenging behaviors, particularly with the ID / DD population Experience in developing crisis support plans
  • You must either have your QHMP or QDDP qualification or be eligible for the certification
  • Documentation of experience working with / developing behavior plans with special needs populations is REQUIRED Significant experience working with ABA-based supports or in an environment that is committed to positive behavioral supports a plus Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends and be able to respond to crisis situations
