American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg Tele RN for a Critical Access Hospital setting requiring a ND or compact RN license and competency in telemetry and respiratory equipment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital on a Med / Tele / Swingbed unit with a 19-bed capacityMixed patient population including acute and swingbed cases such as pneumonia, rehab, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, and GI bleedNurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1 : 3 to 1 : 6Use Meditech EMR and Mindray telemetry monitors; proficiency in both is requiredRequired night shifts with 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and every other holidayExpect floating to Med / Tele Acute, Observation, and Swingbed units as neededNo call or standby responsibilitiesRNs required to set up and be competent with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula equipmentRNs read their own telemetry stripsRNs may participate as part of the code team as neededSupport staff includes one CNA per shift responsible for personal care, vitals, and weightsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyStrong teamwork and a collaborative culture are emphasized in this unitMust supply own scrubs in any colorOrientation consists of 3–4 unit-specific 12-hour shiftsRTO requests must be submitted up front and are limited to 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of considerationCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 1 year of acute care RN experience with medical and telemetry unitsSkill in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, NG and foley insertion requiredMust be able to set up and manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula therapyApplicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year\n Benefits\n
