Required Qualifications : Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position. :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher ed (admissions, campus visits, event planning, or recruitment)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory experience
  • Experience with Large Scale program execution
  • Strong leadership, organizational and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for public speaking and engaging different audiences.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weeks, as needed

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with SLATE and / or Banner or similar SIS and CRM systems
  • Experience with project management
  • Direct experience working with students, different backgrounds and departments / offices
  • Creating and executing program assessments
  • Budget experience
  • Highly organized, detail oriented
  • Bilingual skills highly desirable
  • Job Description :

    The Assistant Director manages the daily operations of the Welcome Center and leads a team of professional staff charged with the oversight of a variety of tours options, top scholar recruitment, tour guides, university ambassadors, and strategic initiatives.

    The position supervises 3-4 professional staff as well as 15-30 student guides and ambassadors.

    Job Duties :

  • Oversee the coordination of TXST Admission Welcome Center.
  • Supervise, train and mentor student guides and Welcome Center Staff to deliver a high-quality campus experience.
  • Collaborate with university partners, academic colleges and other key stakeholders for programming and recruitment initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for major recruitment and yield events such as Bobcat Days and other campus events.
  • Utilize data and feedback to evaluate success, provide reports and recommend improvements.
  • Work with Global Innovation to produce templates in SLATE and Admissions Mar Comm Team to produce publications, promotional materials and content for the Welcome Center.
  • Guidance of planning and implementation of Top Scholar Recruitment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position is on the San Marcos campus.
  • TXST Global Admissions will not sponsor or transfer Visa sponsorship for this position.
  • Occasional overnight travel and work beyond normal 8-5 M-F may be required during peak business periods.
