The Senior Mortgage Consultant, Construction Originator focuses on origination of the credit unions construction product as well as the rehabilitation loan product. This position will handle all internal referrals of members looking to do construction and rehabilitation loans. The position will also develop relationships with referral sources outside of the credit union to obtain construction business that otherwise would not be available to the credit union.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Originate construction loans and rehabilitation loans via internal referrals, all internal construction inquiries will be funneled through this position.
• Procure construction loans through resources outside of the credit union, such as but not limited to, Real Estate Agents, Builders, Financial Advisors, etc.
• Originate all other loan products as needed.
• Cross sell other credit union products while bringing on new members.
• Collect personal information accessing members credit, income, financial history and ability to explain the loan process to applicants.
• Utilize multiple mortgage related software programs to determine members ability to borrow and pay back the mortgage obligation.
• Promote honest and open communication with the member and throughout the credit union.
• Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit unions values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
• Work with other credit union departments to insure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
