Sterile Processing Manager
Provides direction and leadership for delivery of services in the Sterile Processing department. Plans and implements budgets, monitors productivity reports and collaborates with other leaders to facilitate favorable financial performance. Plays an integral role in departmental operations, including but not limited to; recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, assigning work, evaluating, rewarding and disciplining. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines. This position is responsible for ensuring that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, inspected, assembled, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality / timely manner throughout the hospital. Works independently with little or no supervision. Qualified to train others in Sterile Processing. Serves as a resource to Sterile Processing customers. Knowledge of instrument tracking systems. Sterile Processing Distribution Tech Certification required.
What you will do :
- Direct and supervise unit operations and staff. Screen job applicants, and hire new employees.
- Ensure documentation and quality indicators are in accordance with department policy and procedures and regulatory standards.
- Partner with surgical services staff members and leaders to ensure delivery of evidence-based outcomes and reduction of avoidable variations in work.
- Develop and lead procedures and processes that allow SEIRMC to meet accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Provide specialized expertise, ensure resource alignment and system-wide initiative and updates are appropriate with patient outcomes and issues.
- Respond to complaints in a timely manner
- Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions as necessary.
- Implement changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.
Qualifications :
H.S.
