We're seeking an accomplished Senior Staff Analytics Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data-driven decision making. In this role, you'll architect and deliver the most critical and reusable analytics assets, setting the standard for reliability, scalability, and quality across the organization. As a technical thought leader, you'll influence the strategy behind data models and tools, while also mentoring teammates and championing best practices that elevate the entire analytics engineering discipline.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement production-ready data models using dbt and SQL that serve as the backbone for reporting, experimentation, and insights across the business.
- Identify inefficiencies in the current analytics ecosystem and lead initiatives to simplify, refactor, and scale datasets to meet evolving business demands.
- Partner with product managers, analysts, and other data consumers to translate complex requirements into high-quality, reusable data assets that power self-service analytics.
- Define and enforce standards for modeling, testing, documentation, and performance optimization within analytics engineering.
- Encourage adoption of trusted data models by ensuring they are well-documented, easily discoverable, and seamlessly integrated with tools such as Looker and Amplitude.
- Mentor peers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and technical coaching, raising the bar for the team's output and long-term growth.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Product Engineering to influence upstream data practices, ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the pipeline.
- Lead organization-wide initiatives to strengthen governance, reusability, and resilience of analytics infrastructure.
What You'll Bring
10+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline, with extensive work designing and scaling analytics models.Expert-level SQL capabilities and strong Python skills, including automation and scripting for workflow efficiency and testing.Proven experience developing and operationalizing metrics frameworks for product performance, experimentation, and machine learning use cases.Deep knowledge of data modeling and warehousing, including relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and modern analytic stores (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).Hands-on experience designing semantic layers and dashboards in tools like Looker, with familiarity in event-based analytics platforms such as Amplitude.Practical experience with orchestration and ETL frameworks (Dagster, Airflow) in dbt-driven environments.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity, drive alignment across diverse stakeholders, and tell a compelling story with data.A track record of diagnosing and resolving complex data challenges while mentoring others to strengthen organizational expertise.Strong leadership in driving standards and strategies that align data practices across teams, ensuring reliability, scalability, and shared understanding.About Andiamo
