Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Setup Technician / Supervisor to lead and support our machining team. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring efficient setup, operation, and supervision of CNC lathe operations to meet production targets and maintain the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities :

Set up and operate CNC lathes, including manual setup and program editing at the machine

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets

Select appropriate tooling and fixtures and verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments

Lead, train, and support a team of CNC operators and machinists

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot machine / tooling issues, and coordinate with maintenance as needed

Qualifications and Requirements :

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred

3–5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes

Previous supervisory or lead machinist experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of G-code and CNC controls (Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, etc.)

The base salary range for this position is $50,000–$60,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
