Traveling Superintendent
We are seeking a skilled Traveling Superintendent to manage and oversee pre-construction and construction activities for complex projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in construction management, particularly within data centers, and will be adept at leading teams, managing schedules, and ensuring project quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage all pre-construction tasks including the development of crisis management plans, schedules, site logistics, and safety plans.
- Oversee field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring efficient daily huddles, weekly work plans, job site coordination, and material deliveries.
- Develop, manage, and implement project schedules, adjusting as necessary and collaborating closely with the Project Management team.
- Select subcontractors, write RFIs, and track the procurement of materials, tools, and equipment in collaboration with the Project Management team.
- Work with the Quality Control team to meet project-specific requirements and implement site-specific Quality Control plans.
- Ensure on-site documentation such as drawings, logs, and inspection books are current and assist in documenting As-Built drawings.
- Align project budgets for labor, materials, and equipment with Project Management, assessing cost projections and expenditures.
- Complete project closeout tasks including punch list execution, commissioning, final inspections, and owner training.
- Lead Lean methodologies on-site, including standard work and Pull-Plan sessions, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Promote a safe working environment by leading safety meetings and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
- Support and adhere to standard work procedures.
Essential Skills
Project management expertise in construction, with a focus on commercial and data center projects.10+ years of experience in construction management.Strong background in estimation and working with subcontractors.Experience with large or complex projects.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, education, manufacturing, or large commercial construction.Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore.Work Environment
The role involves working on large and complex construction projects, including data centers, with a focus on ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The position requires travel and the ability to manage dynamic project sites, maintaining strong communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $180000.00 / yr.
