Summary :

The Accounting Assistant provides support to the accounting department by performing various administrative and clerical tasks. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Entry :

o Inputting financial data into accounting software.

o Maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions.

Accounts Payable :

o Processing invoices and ensuring timely payments.

o Matching purchase orders with invoices.

Accounts Receivable :

o Preparing and sending invoices to clients.

o Monitoring accounts to ensure payments are received on time.

o Recording incoming payments and updating receivables.

Financial Reporting :

o Assisting in the preparation of daily financial reports.

o Providing support during audits.

General Administrative Support :

o Answering phone calls and handling correspondence.

o Filing and organizing financial documents.

o Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications : Education :

o Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field minimum requirement.

Experience :

o Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is advantageous.

o Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) is a plus.

Skills :

o Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

o Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

o Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to sit for extended periods.

Occasionally lift and carry files and documents weighing up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions :

Standard office environment.

Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.
