Associate Quality Manager
Stryker is hiring an Associate Quality Manager to work in Portage, Michigan to support Stryker Medical : Acute Care commercial team. We are seeking a strategic leader to champion quality excellence across global complaint handling and post-market surveillance programs. This individual will lead and develop a high-performing team of Quality Engineers and Technicians, fostering a culture rooted in accountability, continuous improvement, and leadership development. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in regulated industries, a passion for mentoring and team building, a service and solution-oriented mindset, and a commitment to driving impactful quality initiatives.
Workplace Flexibility : Candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Portage, MI which will be expected to be onsite at the facility Monday through Wednesday with optional remote days on Thursday and Friday depending on business needs.
What You Will Do :
- Own talent strategy including hiring, workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning.
- Define and manage KPIs, performance objectives, and departmental goals to ensure alignment with organizational quality standards.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration to resolve customer-impacting quality issues and elevate product performance.
- Establish communication frameworks to proactively share product quality trends, emerging risks, and resolution status.
- Navigate complex conversations with a solution-oriented mindset, reinforcing commitment to quality and compliance.
- Lead development and implementation of new systems, procedures, and global complaint handling processes.
- Provide audit support and interface directly with internal and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage departmental budget and oversee warranty cost containment.
- Drive culture transformation by addressing underperformance and cultivating future leaders.
What You Need : Required
Bachelor's DegreeMinimum of 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Service, or Operations within regulated industries, including support for Post-Market Surveillance activities in medical devices.Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineeringProven experience managing teams, including making decisions related to training, coaching, performance counseling, and follow-up actions to support team development and effectiveness.Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to ensure conformance to US and international standards, regulations, and initiatives.
