Job Title :

  • Floor Maintenance Technician (PT) Department : Operations FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 24 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services.
  • Spectrum is currently seeking a  part-time  experienced Floor Maintenance Technician who will have the primary responsibility of maintaining the condition and appearance of high-traffic floor areas in one of our high profile downtown Washington, D.C. locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Must be available to work standard shift : Monday – Friday, 5 : 00 pm – 9 : 00 pm.
  • Follows and completes the facility’s daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
  • Utilizes commercial floor maintenance equipment to perform floor care duties.
  • Cleans assigned carpeted areas using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Buff, wax and polish floors as needed to maintain condition and environment.
  • Wet mops washable floors in accordance with building schedule including break rooms, bathrooms, offices, lobby and hallways.
  • Sweeps and clears entrance spaces, daily
  • Dusts, washes and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in schedule
  • Performs other cleaning duties as specified in schedule
  • Reports the following to the CSM : Presence of animals, vermin or insects Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance Water leaks and other maintenance needs All other health and safety hazards noticed
  • Participates in environmental safety activities, as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3 years experience in the custodial field.
  • Floor Maintenance experience including buffering, stripping and waxing with proper commercial equipment maintenance experience required
  • General applicable knowledge of proper cleaning methods.
  • MS Office Suite (Outlook / email) basic experience.
  • Must be able to comply with all required site background checks, including fingerprints.
  • Successful experience working as an effective member of a team.
  • Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff & clients.

  • Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community.
  • Must have effective organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend information from procedure manuals and other materials.
