We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Stationary Engineer for the DuPage County Facilities Management Department.

The posting will only consider internal candidates within the same job classification from 8 / 27 / 25 - 9 / 01 / 25. Starting 9 / 02 / 25, external applicants that qualify for the position will also be considered.

• The position is assigned to the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 399 BARGINING UNIT POSITION.
• The salary for this position is $86,700 plus a $1.25 per hour shift differential for all shifts scheduled to begin work between the hours of 11 : 00 a.m. and 5 : 00 a.m., and / or a $1.25 per hour shift differential for any employee scheduled to work the 48 hours between 12 : 00 a.m. (midnight) on Saturday morning and 11 : 59 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Physical Requirements

Heavy Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than for medium work.

Work Environment

The work environment for this position frequently includes working near moving mechanical parts, in precarious places, with fumes or airborne particles, in cramped or confined spaces, and with potential hazards high temperature hot water / steam, chemicals, refrigerant, and low temperature walk-in refrigerators.
