Youth & Family Initiatives Coordinator at Yail Noa Group - ???? ???
Summary : The Youth & Family Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for managing a portfolio of SHF programs and for supporting SHF's partners who distribute food via youth and family-oriented sites. This position blends relationship-building with strong administrative practices to manage program sites and budgets. The coordinator will serve as a subject matter expert for SHF's network of partners and oversee day-to-day program implementation. SHF's youth & family program sites are heavily centered in Dane County; however, the coordinator's reach will extend across the sixteen-county service area.
Note : This role is largely Dane County based and works from SHF's Madison offices. After full training, the position may work remotely up to 40% with supervisor approval.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Partner Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners in their day-to-day work with youth and families and those developing or expanding youth and family food-related programs.
- Create and maintain relationships with school districts across SHF's 16 counties and work with Community Representatives to determine how to best support each district within their territories.
- Seek feedback from community partners and gather community voice.
- Identify opportunities for new initiatives that meet identified needs while centering nutrition equity and the root causes of hunger.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to discuss issues, offer feedback and support, and strengthen partnerships through best practices.
- Ensure continued best practices in food storage, handling and distribution.
- Collaborate with partner programs to identify opportunities to access federal nutrition resources (CACFP, SFSP, PEBT, SNAP, etc.).
- Develop and maintain best-practice documentation, toolkits, nutrition education materials, backpack program materials and an online resource center for program partners.
Program Management
Manage budget tracking, reporting and compliance for SHF Y&FI programs (e.g., Kids Cafes, School Pantries, Thea's Table, Harvest Snack).Support the success of existing and new Y&FI programs in coordination with schools and community partners.Work with the Community Relations Manager and Director of Partnerships & Community Impact to develop program performance objectives and measure progress to evaluate success.Build and maintain program profiles and partner accounts following Feeding America guidelines, including Memoranda of Understanding for all programs with community partners.Ensure program and administrative requirements are met for applicable grants.Provide customer service, training, and hands-on assistance to community partners.Perform other duties as needed to fulfill the mission, vision and values.Interdepartmental Collaboration
Advocate for cross-departmental understanding of the needs of Y&FI partners; serve as the subject matter expert.Coordinate with the Food Resourcing team to align inventory with Y&FI program needs.Collaborate with the Development Department to provide statistics, information and stories for grant applications and reporting.Competencies

High School Diploma or equivalent; or combination of lived experience, education and training.Two or more years of experience in youth and / or family programming.Experience in external relationship-building, program reporting and evaluation.Ability to set own priorities and work independently; valid driver's license and good driving record; regular access to dependable transportation (insurance 100 / 300 / 50).Ability to travel throughout the service area; ability to pass background check.Food Safety Certification (Safe Food Handler) must be secured within first year of employment.Preferred Experience
Experience with community-based, nonprofit organizations.Lived experience with impacts of systemic racism or marginalization.Experience with children in a school or school-adjacent setting.Experience with food banking.Salary : Madison, WI $47,600.00-$57,100.00
