Site Safety Officer

Summary

The Site Safety Officer is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of the company's safety and health program at a specific project site. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, and works closely with project management, subcontractors, and workers to maintain a safe jobsite environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees and enforces the project site safety program in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conducts daily site safety inspections and documents findings.
• Identifies and addresses unsafe conditions, practices, or hazards in a timely manner.
• Facilitates daily or weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks with project personnel.
• Ensures all employees and subcontractors have received appropriate site-specific safety orientations and training.
• Maintains accurate safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident logs, training records, and safety meeting minutes.
• Assists in accident / incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up corrective actions.
• Serves as the on-site point of contact for OSHA and other regulatory agency inspections.
• Monitors subcontractor compliance with safety plans and requirements.
• Supports the implementation of emergency response procedures for the site.
• Coordinates with the Project Manager and Corporate Safety Director on safety concerns, incidents, and compliance updates.
• Promotes a positive safety culture through engagement, observation, and proactive communication with field crews.
