Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of
CUMMINS, MTU and / or CATAPILLER marine engines
Research and develop ship propulsion systems, to include, but not limited to : diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements.Develop system documentation and ship specifications.Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard propulsion machineryReview and develop technical data packagesProvide oversight on development of machinery arrangementsConduct and oversee trade studies.Provide knowledge of ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field or High School Diploma and 6+ years of additional experienceAbility to obtain a Secret ClearanceU.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining / holding a U.S. security clearance7+ years of relevant experienceExperience on US Coast Guard or US Navy ShipsExperience with MTU diesel engines including machinery control systems.MTU 1B dongle certification.Minimum MTU CE3 certification (1B dongle) for ECS-UNI / ADEC-UNI, ECU-7, SAM, MCS5, and RCS5.EEO Statement
