Gymnastics Coordinator

Job Description

The Gymnastics Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and direction for recreational gymnastics programs. This includes planning class curriculum, supervising staff, ensuring participant safety, and maintaining strong communication with parents, staff, and park district leadership. This part-time role requires a professional, positive, and organized individual who can manage multiple responsibilities, lead by example, and maintain a safe and engaging environment for participants and staff. Duties fall within the medium / heavy work range (lifting 4575 lbs.) and involve spotting and equipment handling.

Qualifications :

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
• Minimum 13 years of experience as a gymnast and / or gymnastics instructor or coach
• Experience working with children and youth
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within first 3 months; training provided)
• USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and Professional Membership (district-paid; required) by February 1.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to spot gymnasts and lift equipment (up to 75 lbs.)

Psychological Considerations :

The gymnastics coordinator may need to resolve differences and problems that arise with the children or parents or instructors. May also have to work under stressful situations when First Aid, CPR or the AED is required.

Physiological Considerations :

This position requires lifting of gym mats and equipment and also lifting and spotting the participants.

Cognitive Considerations :

The ability to use good judgment it necessary as well as a positive, friendly, and outgoing personality.
