- Position Purpose
The Law Enforcement Base Mechanic is directly responsible to the Services Program Manager for the performance and management of aircraft inspections, repairs, alterations, maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
- Essential Functions

- Maintains and repairs aircraft structures and related components including flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
- Installation and removal of any specialized equipment installed on helicopters in accordance with the standards of the manufacturer, supplemental type certificate(s) and / or field approvals, as appropriate.
- Maintains all special mission equipment installed on the helicopter, and ground support equipment.
- Establishes working relationships with the technical representatives of the various manufacturers of the aircraft, engine, and equipment.
- Uses the electronic maintenance manuals for the airframe and engine. Ensures that electronic maintenance manuals are available to pilots at each base 24 hours a day.
- Performs daily inspection (or after last flight inspection) prior to releasing the aircraft to service and prior to a pilot performing a preflight inspection.
- Applies technical knowledge of A&P systems to determine equipment malfunctions and applies expertise in restoring aircraft to safe, airworthy condition.
- Maintains records in compliance with FAA and company requirements.
- Maintains premises of the shop facility in a clean and organized manner.
- Meets all job / Work Order deadlines, communicating to supervisor / manager when circumstances may prevent on-time completion.
- Updates computerized maintenance tracking systems.
- Assures proper information is communicated : job timelines, shop issues, parts delays, and change orders.

- Required Qualifications
- A&P Certificate under 14 CFR 65.81, 65.85, 65.87, or 65.103.
- Possesses at least 24 months of pertinent, verifiable, practical experience.
- Turbine helicopter experience in all phases of maintenance.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate under 14 CFR 65.91 or willingness to obtain with company assistance.
- Demonstrates proficiency in most job-related duties and the ability to perform them independently.
- Clean & valid drivers license
- Must be eligible for DOD clearance.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA regulated drug test prior to start.
- Post-employment will be enrolled in our Safety Sensitive Drug and Alcohol Program.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Must be able to work with law enforcement.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Min two years of Airbus helicopter exp, AS350 strongly preferred.
- Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The work environment is often not temperature / humidity controlled. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

- Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Onsite Monday-Friday day shifts. The exact hours will be determined by location. Must be available for OT as needed evenings / weekends. Must live approximately one-hour drive of base to respond to non-scheduled service needs.
