Job Title : School Bus Driver
Montebello Unified School District is seeking a School Bus Driver. The salary range is $89,105.04 - $113,002.08 annually. The position is located in Transportation, CA and is full-time.

The general purpose of this position is to under direction, schedules, coordinates, assigns and supervises the District's school bus drivers; develops, evaluates and revises the District's student transportation routes and schedules; and performs related duties as assigned.
With direction from the Director of Transportation and Security, incumbents provide first line supervision and training to the District's school bus drivers. Incumbents also have the primary responsibility for developing and modifying the District's student transportation routes and schedules. Incumbents are employed under exempt status.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of : safe driving practices and methods for school buses; principles, methods, techniques and strategies for the training of school bus drivers; provisions of the California Motor Vehicle Code and laws applicable to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of students and in the training of school bus drivers; principles, methods and procedures related to a large student transportation system; airbrake systems and operations; technical aspects of field of specialty.
Ability to : select, train, supervise and evaluate bus operations personnel; plan and schedule bus routes; prepare and review basic records and make reports; provide and follow oral and written instructions; drive school buses safely and efficiently; train operators in the safe and efficient operation of school buses and vehicles; establish and maintain effective relations with others.
Examination Information
Education, Training, and Experience : A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is a high school diploma or its equivalent, with three years of similar work experience in transportation services, including one year in a supervisory capacity; or some combination of education, training and experience that produces the requisite knowledge and ability. Previous work experience at a school district is highly desirable.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements : A valid California driver's license, Class A or B. A valid Special School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol. A valid first aid certificate issued by an authorized agency. Successful completion of a state school bus driver training program recognized by the California Highway Patrol. Incumbents are required to pass a Department of Transportation bi-annual physical examination.
