Responsibilities
- Applies advanced engineering skills, knowledge and techniques to products, tools, materials and / or equipment to provide engineering support and documentation.
- May adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials and / or equipment to meet special needs.
- Performs highly technical tasks, referring only the most complex problems to higher levels.
- May coach, mentor and assist in the training of new engineering tech staff.
- May create, update and maintain required documentation (e.g. Bill of Material, Quality System or other information specific to work area).
- Participates in and may lead continuous improvement processes, project teams and related initiatives.
- Participates in continuous learning, e.g. educational and training opportunities.
- Retains an open attitude toward new engineering ideas / methods / technologies.
- Performs all work in a team environment to ensure all work is completed 100% on time.
- Performs engineering tasks including measuring, testing, documenting and creating / modifying drawings based on sound engineering principles.
- Reads, creates and modifies drawings to support the product / layout requested by the customer.
- Works cross functionally with colleagues in Purchasing, Manufacturing, Applications, CAD, Order Administration, Facilities, Quality, etc.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.5-7 years applicable engineering support experienceFamiliarity with basic measuring equipment (e.g. calipers, comparator).Ability to read, understand and apply blueprints, manufacturing routings, geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) and work-specific codes.Ability to effectively use office automation / communication software and tools used in the office environment and a basic understanding of current CAD systems used within the functional area.Must have knowledge of and ability to apply engineering procedures and practices. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Strong communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
