Cedar Street is a full-service design and development partner for scaling brands. We help ambitious companies move faster, scale smarter, and build with confidence. With a focus on hospitality, food & beverage, and retail rollouts, we bring clarity and control to complex real estate and construction projects across the U.S.

The Role

We are seeking a full-time, in-person Project Architect to join our growing NYC studio. This role will focus on managing and producing architectural drawing sets for commercial interior fit-outs, particularly in the QSR and hospitality space. The ideal candidate is technically strong, deadline-driven, and comfortable owning a project from SD through CDs, permitting, and construction support.

Responsibilities

Lead drawing set development from schematic design through construction documents

Coordinate closely with in-house design and project management teams

Prepare permit sets and manage AHJ submittals with oversight from Construction Director

Own consultant coordination and integration (MEP, structural, lighting, etc.)

Participate in client meetings, site surveys, and field documentation

Perform code reviews, zoning checks, and accessibility analysis

Support RFI responses, submittal reviews, and construction administration tasks

Uphold brand standards across multiple locations and ensure design intent is executed

Requirements

5+ years of experience in commercial architecture (hospitality / QSR experience strongly preferred)

Proficiency in Revit is required

Deep familiarity with code and permitting processes

Experience preparing coordinated CD sets and consultant packages

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently

Skilled communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver

Professional degree in Architecture required; licensure is a plus

Preferred Skills

Working knowledge of DOB and permitting platforms

Experience with rollout or multi-unit development

Knowledge of building envelope and base-building coordination

Experience mentoring architectural staff or working with offshore teams

What We Offer

An in-person, collaborative studio environment in NYC

Hands-on exposure to fast-moving projects and national brand work

The opportunity to shape design and delivery systems in a growing firm

A culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement

To Apply

Please submit your resume, portfolio, and a brief note explaining your interest. Final candidates may be asked to complete a short technical exercise.
