We are seeking a Design Manager to join our Workplace Studio, offering the opportunity to be an integrated and active member of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside multiple Baskervill offices. Leveraging your experience in architecture, attention to detail and interpersonal skills, you will deliver exceptional projects on time and on budget. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and the client. What you’ll be doing :
Manage all phases of design and production work for the Workplace team alongside Studio Directors
Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements
Manage project scheduling, budgets, and set up coordination with contractors, vendors and consultants
Manage a range of project team sizes, comprised of project architects, design directors, and interior designers
Track financial performance of projects
Prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process
Coordinate projects conform to contracts and provide quality control of drawings
Guide and mentor staff in the review of technical and code matters
Create and maintain project management documentation plans and weekly work plans with the project architect
What you need :
Bachelors or Masters degree from an NAAB-accredited institution
10+ years of professional architecture experience, ideally experience in Workplace project types
Experience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teams
Excellent communication skills, fostering a culture of mentorship and apprenticeship within the team,
Working knowledge and understands the implications of how the design of a project affects BOMA or other square footage calculations
Professional licensure or working towards licensure
Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on projects
Proficiency in Revit
Knowledge and aptitude in other design software platforms preferred, including but not limited to : Deltek VantagePoint, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Office 365
The willingness to travel, as there will be occasional travel to regional projects
