Job Details
Registered Professional Nurse providing safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others in the Radiology Department at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Delivers patient care incorporating Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing standards.
Assesses and evaluates patient care needs applying critical thinking skills.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team in plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation.
Prioritizes patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating as appropriate.
Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family, and healthcare team members.
Manages assignments within Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model and allocates material resources effectively.
Role models Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through various patient care actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, and MD / RN Unit Collaboration.
Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all aspects of care.
Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Uses evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care.
Initiates service recovery for patient and family concerns and escalates as needed.
Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
Supports staff use of evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions.
Conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding addressing the 4 Ps.
Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in patient population served.
Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional and evidence-based procedures.
Engages in peer and institutional review processes.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
Contributes to quality and safety practices and compliance measures.
Implements high reliability principles to avoid high risk behaviors and provide a safe environment.
Escalates potential safety hazards or gaps following institutional chain of command.
Utilizes institutional information technology for documentation supporting quality and performance improvement.
Performs charge nurse duties as assigned.
Coordinates with nursing leadership to ensure appropriate supply utilization and inventory for patient care.
Escalates material or staffing resource deficits to appropriate nursing leadership.
Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care regarding equipment, staff, and supplies.
Documents accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care.
Facilitates patient throughput on shift basis.

Job Requirements
NYS Registered Nurse License required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Minimum 2 years of ambulatory outpatient and radiation safety experience.
Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
1 year travel experience required for travel positions (not required for Per Diem positions).
EPIC experience highly preferred.
Schedule Information
Schedule : 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12).
