40 hrs / week with 4 hours OT / week About the Organization A leading U.S. national research facility dedicated to advancing science, engineering, and technology for the public good.The organization conducts cutting-edge research in areas such as energy, environment, computing, and materials science, fostering collaboration among world-class scientists and engineers.Its mission-driven culture emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and teamwork to address complex global challenges through interdisciplinary research and practical applications.Position Summary The Electronics Engineering Associate will provide hands-on technical support in the design, documentation, testing, procurement, and installation coordination of complex electrical systems.This is a mid- to senior-level position requiring prior practical experience—not an entry-level training role.Recent graduates may be considered only if they have direct, demonstrable experience with pulsed power or high-voltage systems.Key Responsibilities 1.Technical Documentation and Schematic Development Create, update, and maintain 2D AutoCAD electrical schematic drawings.Apply redlines, track revisions, and maintain proper version control.
Produce clear, accurate, and compliant technical documentation.Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for ongoing projects. 2.Installation Planning and Field Coordination Support installation planning for electrical systems, including racks, cabling, grounding, and interfaces.Collaborate with electricians, installers, fabricators, vendors, and other trades.Ensure all field activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and fully documented. 3.Testing and Commissioning Prepare and execute functional and system-level testing of pulsed power supplies and related equipment.Develop and follow test procedures, perform bench testing, collect and analyze test data.Support quality assurance and commissioning efforts under engineering supervision. 4.Project Coordination and Procurement Support Track and manage procurement of electrical components and subsystems.Coordinate deliveries, maintain procurement timelines, and resolve logistics issues.Keep accurate records of orders, inventory counts, and lab readiness. 5.Lab and Workflow Organization Maintain electronics lab organization, readiness, and compliance with safety standards.Keep detailed records of print lists, procurement timelines, inventories, and other documentation.Support engineers and technicians in preparing lab spaces for fabrication and testing. 6.Cross-Team Communication and Workflow Improvements Act as a liaison between engineering, operations, trades, and project management teams.Provide clear communication regarding technical status, risks, and resource needs.Contribute to workflow improvements, documentation processes, and knowledge sharing across teams.Required Qualifications Design Proficiency :
Skilled in 2D AutoCAD for electrical schematic development.Hands-On Experience :
Proven ability in bench testing, QA procedures, and system-level testing.Field Installation Skills :
Experience in repairing, installing, and validating electrical systems.Technical Background :
Knowledge of high-voltage or pulsed power systems strongly preferred.Organizational Strength :
Excellent attention to detail in managing documentation, BOMs, procurement, and lab records.Communication Skills :
Strong written and verbal communication for effective coordination and documentation.Safety Readiness :
